RESPONSIBILITIES
Hirer (Customer) Responsibility and Our Responsibility
Customer Responsibilities
- Customer will be responsible for the cost of mobilization –including cost of hiring a low bed to transport the Rig from Shai Hills to Customer site (and at conclusion of contract, transport it back to Shai Hills).
- Customer is responsible for providing clean and adequate diesel for the drilling job. Depending on Customer need, our Work schedule and working conditions, we may do 2 shifts – day and night. We generally may take 400 liters of diesel in a day and will drill approximately 400 meters with that diesel depending on ground conditions, existence or absence of cracks etc. We ask the customer to take notice of the diesel level prior to beginning of the first day of drilling and fill up the tank for the start of the shift and keep it filled prior to each shift to avoid running out of diesel mid-shift. We strive to maintain a minimum level of diesel in the fuel tank at all times to avoid clogging our injectors – an extremely expensive problem to resolve. At end of the contract, we will check the fuel level and perform a calculation on whether to reimburse customer for any diesel or get more diesel to top up to level we had arrived with.
- Customer will provide accommodation for up to 2 operators and 2 drilling assistants at a location close to customer site and provide transportation to and from the residence or hotel to the customer work site for each of the day shift and night shift crew, on a daily basis.
- Customer shall pay a daily stipend ( amount to be specified at time of writing contract) to each Drill Operator and Drilling Assistant.
- We work most Sundays and Holidays. Customer shall allow for our workers to be able to work day time as well as night time.
- Customer shall make sure that drilling area is properly prepared prior to each shift, and shall endeavor to reduce to a minimum, wait times Rig sits while areas to be drilled is prepared.
- Whereas all efforts would be made to accommodate customer ‘s unplanned breakdowns that impact our drilling schedule once we begin, we reserve the right to remove the rig from the site if an idle time of 24 hours occurs as a result of a customer’s inability to provide well prepared grounds or diesel for drilling to continue.
Our Responsibilities
- We will provide at least 1 operator and 1 drilling assistant for each day. We will conduct our work in a very diligent and professional manner. Depending on a variety of factors, on a daily basis we may drill anywhere from 180 meters to 350 meters – the norm being usually around 200 meters for 76 mm and 180 for 89 mm.
- We will keep a log of meters drilled, and submit a log of all meters drilled at the end of the contract for customer approval and signature.
- We will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the equipment. When equipment breaks down, we will endeavor to fix them in the shortest possible time to ensure such unexpected breaks has minimal Imapact on our customer’s production plans.
- We will be reponsible for all drilling consumables needed to complete the job including drilling bits, extension rods etc.
